LaTrell Billingsley

LaTrell Billingsley, is a 12-year veteran Fire Fighter with the City of Jackson Fire Department. He is now a Public Education Officer in the Public Education Division of the Jackson Fire Department after being promoted in April 2019.
In his 12-year career, Billingsley has worked as a firefighter, his primary functions were to protect the community from disastrous situations, including house and building fires, and serve the community by promoting safety within the City of Jackson. In the position of a firefighter, he was required to perform traditional firefighter activities, as well as hazardous materials response, rescue, fire prevention, public education, training, and pre-hospital emergency medical care.
Billingsley, as Public Education Officer, has helped coordinate and deliver comprehensive community fire and injury prevention programs designed to eliminate or mitigate situations that endanger lives, health, property, or the environment. He is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of planning educational programs, establishing new community initiatives, maintaining records, educating students about fire safety, developing long and short-range plans/programs, and, keeping the public safe.
Billingsley received a Bachelor of Science in Business (Cum Laude), from Lane College. He has received his Public Fire & Life Safety Educator I & II. Billingsley has received his Fire Inspector I & II certifications, is certified through the state of Tennessee, and is a member of the International Code Council. He is a Fire Investigator with the City of Jackson Fire Department, is a Certified Fire investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators, of which he is a member, and is certified through the State of Tennessee. Billingsley has obtained his Fire Officer I certification, Fire Department Instructor I certification, Fire Apparatus Operator Certification, and Fire Fighter I & II certifications. Billingsley is a Certified Hazardous Materials Technician and an Emergency Medical First Responder with the City of Jackson Fire Department.
Billingsley servers in the Community and Church. In 2017, Billingsley was elected to become the Trustee Chair at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, where he is a member. He is a Volunteer in City of Jackson and County league sports as a Coach of soccer, baseball, and football teams and is a volunteer with Better Balance Sports Fitness Club’s programs.
He is married to his lovely wife Whitney Billingsley of 8 years and has 4 beautiful children. He is a dedicated husband, father, and family man. Ambitious and motivated, he is diligently pursuing his career in the fire service and entrepreneurship, while continually striving to be a pillar of strength and success for the Jackson community.
